– En Guinée-Bissau, des rivalités politiques ont parfois pris une coloration ethnique, notamment entre les Balantes et d’autres communautés;
– En Guinée Conakry, les tensions entre Peuls, Malinkés et Soussous ont trop souvent nourri les crises politiques;
– Au Mali, les incompréhensions entre Touaregs, Peuls, Dogons et d’autres communautés ont été exploitées, aggravant des conflits déjà complexes;
– Au Nigeria, les fractures entre Haoussas-Fulanis, Yorubas et Igbos, auxquelles se sont ajoutées d’autres tensions, ont profondément marqué l’histoire du pays;
– En Afrique du Sud, même après l’apartheid, des violences xénophobes et communautaires sont venues rappeler que la paix reste un combat de chaque instant.
Ces réalités nous rappellent qu’aucune Nation ne grandit lorsque ses enfants se regardent avec méfiance. Les discours de stigmatisation, les amalgames et les préjugés sont les premiers semeurs de discorde. Les combattre est une responsabilité collective.
Préservons l’unité africaine. Faisons de notre pays un modèle de coexistence pacifique. Cultivons la paix avec patience, humilité et courage. Prenons notre bâton de pèlerin chaque fois qu’une tension naît dans un quartier, un village ou une famille. Allons vers notre voisin, quelle que soit son ethnie, quelle que soit sa religion, pour dialoguer avant que les blessures ne deviennent des fractures.
